Oops I had to jump back on my laptop to comment. This is SO valuable, and I'm so grateful to you for writing it! (cheers for the shout-out, primarily because it made me read this whole essay which was an excellent read). You covered the means of building/enhancing connection really really well, applied to a wide variety of relationships and group settings. Hell yes! I've been wanting to map different kinds of connection for a while now - by that I mean, like, Connection to the body (which you addressed in nervous system regulation, I think it also extends into things like nutrition and habits and how these impact our sense of wellbeing and safety), Connection to other people, Connection to land, Connection to labor, Connection to spirit, Connection to our own minds and thinking. It's like, every major problem we face today - from mental health crises to economic exploitation to climate change to political turmoil and war - comes down to this fundamental culture of alienation rather than connection. I could nerd out about this forever, so for now, love this. Thank you.
